Leaving my job was HARD WORK. You know that irritated/upset/anxious feeling you get inside when you just don’t like/want to go to your job anymore? I felt that for almost a year before I could figure out that leaving my job was the “right” move to make.
So what kind of work did I do on myself to build up the confidence, courage, and determination to LET GO?
First of all, I got a coach, Stephanie from New Zealand. Bless her heart, she heard me week and week tell her how much I wanted to leave my job, but how I could not for reasons x, y, and z, and d, and e, and f…
Eventually, I sought out a meditation class to assist me in “letting go.” I began meditating in the morning before work and after work consistently and noticed a big change in how I approached work—sort of unattached in a good way.
Then, I started evaluating what things were holding me back from doing what I said I wanted to do week after week.
Health insurance, tuition assistance for grad school, a steady paycheck, a social life.
I ended up getting not one, but two financial coaches and help from a friend regarding health insurance, and how I could sustain myself after I had no stead paycheck coming in.
I also read books like Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker, which reassured my unconscious mind that the path I was on was setting me up for success.
I made sure I hung out my other self-employed friends Mark, and Mike every week for moral support.
Finally, and maybe most powerfully, I found a tool called muscle testing, where you test whether your unconscious mind believes that you are worthy, deserving, safe, and allowed to do what you really want to do.
I found out I had some energetic blocks keeping me from taking action. I did not think I was worthy to be self-employed or deserving.
Once I cleared those blocks, shit started to really happen! and I was able to take action to free myself from what was holding me back from living up to my highest potential. I started using the muscle testing on my clients and shit started to really happen for them too!!
I’ve gotten a huge response regarding my leaving my job. I know I am not alone in desiring something different for myself. I’m also positive that you need a lot of help the way I did too.
